The Best French Toast You’ve Ever Had

It’s never really been my thing… I’ve never cared for breakfast at breakfast time, I’m not a huge cinnamon fan and there are just sooo many other great breakfast foods to indulge in. Vin likes French Toast though and I’m searching for new things to try in the kitchen and this was the result:

Yes, that is fresh squeezed orange juice, homemade cubed hash browns with bacon and over easy eggs with a side of salsa, avocado, tomato, onion, cilantro and spinach (yet another possible version of my morning jumble)… Ya know, just in case the French Toast wasn’t good – and also (mainly) because I just have way too much fun in the kitchen. Still though, Vin’s a lucky dude.

I’ve tried a ton of recipes and a several different styles (and then a combination of said recipes and styles) but now 500 recipes later I think I’ve got it. There’s a huge chance that’s gonna change but I promise to let you know if – I mean “when!” – that happens. I think you’ll be happy for now though.

French Toast

1 cup flour
Salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup vanilla almond milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Bread

Combine dry ingredients
Whisk together the other ingredients in a separate bowl before adding both mixtures together
Dip your bread into the batter and then place in a HOT pan/griddle
Cook for 1-2 minutes and then flip
Continue until lightly browned on each side or until it’s done to your liking

Top with powdered sugar and maybe a dash of cinnamon before gobbling it all up! 🙂
